I love decorating and a clean space, so when it comes to my office, let’s just say I am always trying to be organized and put together. I can’t stand clutter…. even though sometimes I can’t help but make a mess. Before I leave work every day, I always try to straighten everything up so I can start on a good note the next day. Usually on Friday’s, I try to wipe down everything with a lysol wipe! Crazy, I know, but it makes me feel clean and safe from all the germs. Maybe that’s why I haven’t gotten sick yet this year…knock on wood!
This is my first year in this office, so it has taken me a while to get everything how I want it…. and I am still adding and subtracting things! I love most of the things in my office, but I am still trying to think of ways to make it feel more like me. I love having a clean, open environment that allows me to be creative and feel at peace. So… for those of you that are interested, here is a mini tour of my office!
As some of you know, I am a dance teacher and assistant drill team director at a high school. It is so much fun and I love working with high school students. Because I teach dance, I technically don’t have a classroom that I can decorate and make into my space, which is why my office is so important to me! I need a place that is “my classroom” so to speak.
The desk, computer and cabinets came with the office, everything else I have purchased myself. I got the book shelf from Ikea and my mom and I spray painted it gold!! How fun right?! And the trays I found in my office from the person who previously had my office, but they were black. So, again, my mom and I spray painted those to match. (Can you tell I love gold??)
I added my own personal touch (and happy thoughts) above my computer with a Gallery Wall! I love this display so much. I printed two from Pinterest and the other ones are some of my favorite photos. All dance related of course.
My bulletin board is one of my favorites too. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased some pink, gold foil, cream, and white with gold polka dot patterned tissue paper. From there, I made my own tassel banner! It was so easy and fun. There are so many tutorials on YouTube if you want to recreate this yourself. I love hanging my favorite pictures on my board, as well as all of my friends’ Save the Date cards and sweet letters from my students.
I have tried to make my office as warm as possible. I love details and I strive to live by the saying of “always being true to yourself”, which is perfectly reflected in my office. I want to add way more stuff to the wall, but maybe another time!
Hope you guys enjoyed my mini office tour! xoxo
